This is indeed an indication that AU is a \u201cGod\u2019s Own Project\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While delivering his matriculation speech, the President\/Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ekundayo Alao, appreciated God for using the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke to establish the institution which has become a reference point in the Nigeria education system. \u00a0To the student, he challenged them to make good use of the opportunity being given to them by their parents, guardians, sponsors and the university.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Focusing on the motto of the institution which are: Education, Excellence and Character, the Vice-Chancellor explained that these are the three cardinal tripods upon which the students will be nurtured in the next three, four and five years of their study in Adeleke University. He stated that, education is life and the students will be trained in the three domains of human learning: Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor.\u00a0 The Head, Heart and Hand will be touched in the course of their training in Adeleke University. Therefore, the curricular and extra-curricular programmes of the University are aimed at ensuring that at the end of their study, they will not only be found worthy in learning but in both LEARNING AND CHARACTER.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On excellence, he stressed the need for hard work. According to him \u201cexcellence is a virtue that the university relishes so much and will like to bequeath to the students. Every activity here in Adeleke University is geared towards making sure that you become the best that you could ever be.\u00a0 We cannot do this without your cooperation because teaching and learning only take place in an interactive atmosphere.\u201d He further explained that, excellence is never conferred, rather, it is achieved and success comes only to those who are seriously committed to their callings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on character, he said, \u201cCharacter is the mirror through which other people will see and appreciate the excellence of your education and learning\u201d.\u00a0 He further mentioned that, most of the GED courses and the Religious Life Department programmes on campus are for character formation and modification.
