\"\"One of the challenges the Nigerian University system grapples with is that of digital gap. This challenge with its attending consequences has contributed to low staff productivity, inefficiency and perhaps the low ranking of many Nigeria Universities within the world University system.<\/p>\n

Understanding the nexus between capacity building and staff productivity which is in line with the theme of the Adeleke University 2018\/2019 \u0130konbet G\u00fcncel Giri\u015f<\/a> Staff Colloquium \u201cLiving Our Dreams: Creating A Sustainable Legacy\u201d, the University administration approved the training of one hundred and ten (110) staff members across all levels. The training commenced on Monday, October 15 and ended on Friday, October 19, 2018.<\/p>\n

The Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI) was conducted by the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) a subsidiary of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The training focused on the proficient use of internet and Microsoft Office Productivity Tools for enhanced e-teaching and learning. Participants were equipped with these essential ICT skills through hands-on- training learning approach so that they could translate the acquired acknowledge and skills to improve teaching, research and work performance.<\/p>\n

The ADAPTI capacity building training have been conducted in many public tertiary institutions in Nigeria and Adeleke University was selected as one of the institutions in the Private Universities category to benefit from the free \u0130konbet<\/a>
\n capacity building training programme organised by the NCC.<\/p>\n

The President\/Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ekundayo Alao, while interacting with the participants, appreciated the organisers of the programme who he described as bridge builders in the nation\u2019s tertiary education system. He thanked the participants for making themselves available for one week to be trained and empowered. He emphasised that, \u201cthough the University is not paying a dime to the organisers, still the training is not free. The Federal Government funded the \u201cfree\u201d training. For that reason, Professor Alao stressed that, participants should take the training serious and endeavour to translate the knowledge and skill acquired to improved teaching and learning.<\/p>\n
